Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. I did shoot all year, but had blogger's fatigue so didn't share much. Here's some of what I was up to.
Best of 2024
Even though my photography has been off the boil lately, there were some terrific moments last year. Check them out....finally.
Who’s there?
More fall beauty on the Ice Age Trail, plus a fantastic wildlife encounter.
So it’s a photo blog
A little of this and that from the summer. Birds, bugs, blooms and a bit of blue.
Didn’t forget the Hummingbirds!
The season of these tiny birds is short, but lively and fun. Got a few shots with different flowers, but no males with those flashy feathers.
A Two-heron Day
Back out on a favorite river with some fantastic wildlife.
One big baby
A kayaking scouting trip turns into an unexpected amazing experience.
A Lone Loon
Horn Lake surprise along with the usual beauties. It might be small, but this lake is a treat to paddle.
Kayak photography – the ups and downs
What I've learned after more than 10 years of photography from a kayak, plus a joyful wildlife encounter.
Yakkity Yak
Hangin' out with turtles and birds, but an unexpected bout of ick made me scoot a little early.
Little guys and little inspiration
Winter conditions return for spring - a dearth of photographs, but the reflex is still there.
Spring birds
The lazy bird photographer strikes again!
Best of 2023
Ok so I finally have what I think are the best shots I took last year and why. Plus video!! First time for a Best of post.
Allequash Lake
A dignified heron and a bunch of silly ducks - all part of the beauty of this undeveloped lake.
Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers
Just me and a couple of suckers.
RWBB
It's nesting season for most songbirds and I got to spend a few hours with one of our most iconic species.
Hum a few bars
Better late than never - hummingbirds doing their thing and some changes to capture and processing.
Clown of the forest
A familiar, but amenable forest favorite gives me a few choice poses.
So I might be a bird photographer
More things that come to those who wait.
Fast photography
But did I have the skill to make it happen?
Another migrant
Another gorgeous little migratory songbird blows through the yard!
